Design Principles

(1) Overall vehicle safety and reliability:

Select a chassis vehicle with reliable and stable performance, reasonable configuration and strong power as the modification platform to ensure the stability and reliability of vehicle use. The braking performance, power performance, shock absorption performance, interior space size and load capacity of the chassis should all meet the equipment modification requirements.

Strictly control the weight of the vehicle modification. The vehicle’s curb weight meets the original chassis design requirements, does not exceed the chassis carrying capacity, and the vehicle’s modified weight distribution is reasonable, with a reasonable distribution of the load on the front and rear axles to ensure that the braking performance and climbing performance of the vehicle are not affected. There will be no overloading or deformation of the vehicle.

The interior layout of the vehicle is careful to avoid sharp protrusions.

(2) Safety and reliability of the body structure

All kinds of equipment, facilities and items should be designed with connection reliability and placement stability in mind. All equipment and materials should be designed with appropriate installation and fixation methods according to their own characteristics for locking and fixation to avoid loosening, deformation and displacement during driving and ensure the safety of the equipment.

(3) Vehicle passability and transportability

Design the overall dimensions of the vehicle in a reasonable way to avoid situations where the roof is too high, the body is too wide, and the chassis is too low, which may affect the passability.

(4) Environmental adaptability of the vehicle

Select chassis models with good power and comfort, control the vehicle weight reasonably, ensure the vehicle’s road passability, and improve the vehicle’s adaptability to various road conditions in urban and rural areas.

(5) Sealing and waterproofing of the vehicle structure

Give full consideration to the vehicle’s anti-corrosion sealing, waterproofing, rainproofing and dustproofing.

All floor threading, pipe threading, and frame equipment installation positions should be sealed with glue to ensure the floor is sealed and dust-proof.

(6) Ease of use

The design of the entire vehicle and each system should meet the requirements of flexible, convenient, fast and safe use, ensuring that the equipment vehicle can enter the working state as soon as possible after arriving at the site.

(7) Shock resistance

The entire vehicle and its systems should take into full account the requirements of shock absorption, noise reduction, and ergonomics to ensure the safe and normal operation of all equipment in terms of structure, materials, and processes. 

Seismic performance should be flexibly applied through a variety of shock absorption methods, choosing the appropriate means based on the seismic requirements of different equipment.

3 Scheme Description

  2. On-board systems

1) Vehicle speed. The repair and rescue equipment vehicle is equipped with Dongfeng Motor engine and chassis and can move at a speed of more than 89km/ h.

2) Humanized operation layout space. There is ample space in the carriage to facilitate the use and access of equipment by repair personnel. Inspection and maintenance of the equipment. Provide a good working environment for the operator in harsh field conditions.

3)Safety measures. The carriages are equipped with fire extinguishers, smoke alarms and lighting. Outdoor lighting is installed on both sides of the carriage.

  1. Box body part (The whole vehicle is tentatively set to be in engineering yellow color)

1) The entire vehicle is engineering yellow.

2) The box frame is made of Wuhan Iron and Steel’s special high-quality carbon steel plate, with the outermost material being 2mm thick cold-rolled plate and the interior material being 1.5mm thick aluminum checkered plate.

3) Four aluminium alloy roller shutters are opened on each side of the box, and a double door is opened at the rear.

4)The rear is convenient for the staff to access the equipment. Install the Kaizoli hydraulic tailboard (as shown in the following figure).

5)Hydraulic outriggers are installed at the bottom of the vehicle to ensure that the tires in the vehicle compartment are not compressed when the vehicle is stationary.

The total length of the vehicle is: length × width × height (mm) : 8480*2550*3400, and the body size is approximately: length × width × height (mm) : 5500×2480×2100mm.

The special equipment transport compartment is mainly made of steel sections and cold-rolled plates, with a frame structure, high structural strength, good rigidity, light weight, and high loading and transportation capacity.

The rescue equipment storage unit of the special equipment transport compartment is reasonably designed according to the size of the rescue equipment, with heavier rescue equipment placed at the bottom and relatively lighter equipment placed at the top, making the rescue equipment easy to load and unload and securely fixed.

The frame structure of the equipment rack is made of high-strength aluminum alloy profiles combined into an aluminum alloy frame structure, which is connected by special screws between the profiles. It has the advantages of adjustability and assembly, and the frame structure can be adjusted according to different equipment loaded, with good versatility; It can also make effective use of space.

The equipment rack is covered with small patterned aluminum alloy plates;

Special rescue equipment transport compartments are equipped with various types of vehicle lamps as required by relevant standards;

The top and periphery frames are made of welded rectangular tubes, which are of reliable strength;

The front and rear inner guard plates are patterned aluminium plates, and the outer guard plates are formed by pressing steel plates.

  1. Equipment frame section

1) The equipment rack is made of aluminium checkered plates, standard aluminium profiles of 40mm*40mm, and square tubes.

2) The equipment on the equipment rack is fixed with fire protection straps, and the equipment on the box floor is fixed with ground clamps and fire protection straps (as shown in the following figure)

Aluminium alloy roller shutters

The doors on the left and right sides and at the rear end of the rescue tool vehicle are made of aluminium alloy roller shutters, which take up little space for opening and are easy to open. The door size is approximately 1680mm high ×1200mm wide, and a special lock is installed. The door frame is equipped with boarding handrails and pedals, allowing rescue workers to quickly board the vehicle from different directions to carry tools.

To facilitate the handling of large (heavy) tools, a handling device is installed on the rear door of the carriage with a liftable hydraulic operation tailboard. Choose a 1.5-ton hydraulic tailboard from Kezoli.

Hydraulic outriggers

As the rescue equipment is loaded, the weight increases, suitable for the chassis support load, reducing the deformation of the rear single-axle four tires and providing rigid support. It can be operated on one side of the vehicle.

Suspension compartments are added to the lower part of the carriages on both sides of the body. Each side of the suspension compartments is divided into multiple units. The upper part of the outer surface cover plate of the suspension compartments is made of anti-slip aluminum plate. When the cover plate of the suspension compartments is opened, it can be used as a pedal and can carry up to 300kg

The exterior paint color of the vehicle shall be in accordance with the national industry standard color, tentatively engineering yellow.

  1. Interior facilities

The carriages are fully equipped with high-strength, easy-to-disassemble gear straps.

The rescue tools in the carriage are stored in a unitized layout, classified, and each unit is framed in a “transparent” manner as much as possible, with passageways connecting each storage unit to facilitate the search, retrieval and storage of the tools.

The entire carriage is divided into several sections based on the size and quantity of the rescue equipment.

Special equipment storage racks are designed according to the height of the carriage and the size of the equipment. Rescue equipment is placed separately, and two sets of roller slides and toothed straps are installed at the bottom of the double-track bridge.

According to the shape of the various rescue equipment, each piece of equipment is designed with gear straps for fixation to ensure the stability and reliability of each piece of equipment during driving and parking.

Work lights inside the cabin:

The interior of the box is designed with four sets of lighting lamps to ensure the convenience and safety of accessing rescue equipment in various situations.

Smoke alarms are installed inside the cabin.

A set of spare batteries is placed inside the vehicle in case the original battery runs out in an emergency.

Reversing surveillance system: Install a reversing surveillance system in the cab.

For this line equipment loading rescue vehicle, our company will design the layout plan based on the principles of convenience, speed, balanced weight, and heavier at the bottom and lighter at the top.

The lower skirt of the carriage is divided into N compartments. Among them, the rear compartment of the passenger car is the hydraulic tailboard device compartment, the others are the original vehicle battery compartment, the original vehicle fuel tank rack compartment, and the extra compartments are the boarding step compartment and the tool compartment.
